Crete Gallery by D'Lynn Waldron, PhD , FRGS © These photographs show some of the aspects of the traditional way of life through the seasons of the year on the Greek Island of Crete which I photographed in 1983-84. I have tens of thousands of Kodachrome slides of the scenery and traditional activities, in a way of life which disappeared with the passing of these elderly people I photographed thirty years ago. One of the things I did on Crete was to study the Minoan artifacts in the museum and then look for cultural continuities, and I found many. When I have the time, I will assemble that illustrated study and put it on this internet site.
