DOCUMENT WITH LUMUMBA'S OWN STATEMENTS ABOUT GENERAL JANSSENS AND THE FORCE PUBLIQUE IN STANLEYVILLE very large file so the text can be read in the original.
D'Lynn Waldron was a foreign correspondent in Stanleyille, Belgian Congo in the spring of 1960, just prior to Independence. Below is a large reproduction of a photo taken by D'Lynn Waldron of the copy of the confiscated edition of the Stanelyvillois which she rescued from the bon fire and brought to Lumumba. The paper was confiscated and burned because it contained Lumumba's criticism of the behavior of the Belgian administration and army officers at the time of the elections just prior to Independence. D'Lynn carried messages back and forth between Lumumba and the Belgian administors and military in Stanleyville. This is the only surviving image of this very important document.
